Parent Volunteer Program
Our goal is to offer the best coaching for players in a fun environment that encourages a love of the game and for all parents to take an active role in this experience.
The Bloomington-Normal Warriors Lacrosse Club is a volunteer run organization, which requires participation of its members' families to ensure its success. All families are asked to contribute a certain number of volunteer hours. We realize that Lacrosse is a sport that is unfamiliar to many parents. As a result, volunteering can be a bit intimidating at first. We are more than willing to help answer questions. Plus, volunteering is really the best way to become familiar with this sport, which in turn will make watching the game more enjoyable, help you better communicate with your player and provide you with an appreciation for why Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in America. The reality is... if your player can learn the game so can you! And if you're new to a volunteer task, don't be afraid to ask other parents and/or your Team Coach or Manager to get you started.
During the registration process, each family will be asked to select a four hour volunteer commitment. Parents/ guardians may choose from the following options: coach, assistant coach, team manager, rental equipment, concessions, fund-raising, game day table, etc. Descriptions of these commitments can be found below.
We understand that some families are not able to volunteer their time. In this case, we offer a $80 volunteer-opt-out option. After reading the descriptions, if you believe your family will not be able to support the club through one of these roles, please select the opt-out option during Registration. Please choose carefully as the Warriors Board of Directors, coaches, children and parents are all counting on everyone’s help.
